What is a certified translation?
It's a translation accompanied by a Certificate of Translation Accuracy — a statement signed by the translator confirming the document is a complete and accurate translation of the original. It is the format USCIS requires under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). Other institutions set their own rules, so it is worth checking with whoever will receive your document.
Is this the same as a sworn translation ("tradução juramentada")?
No. "Tradução juramentada" is Brazil's public sworn-translator system, which does not apply to documents used in the United States. For U.S. use, what's required is a certified translation — which is exactly what JV Translations provides.
Do you also offer notarization?
We don't offer notarization services. We work exclusively with certified translation, which is what the large majority of U.S. institutions require. If your specific case requires notarization, let us know before sending your document.
How long does it take?
Most documents are ready within 24 hours of quote confirmation.
How do I get a quote?
Send a photo or PDF of your document over WhatsApp. You'll get the page count and total price, no obligation.
Can you tell me what documents I need for my immigration case?
No. JV Translations provides translation services only — we are not attorneys, we don't assess eligibility, recommend which form or benefit to pursue, or explain the legal effect of questions on a form. For guidance on your case, please consult a licensed immigration attorney.
